Kristopher “Kris” Miller is an attorney in the Domestic Relations division. Mr. Miller’s practice areas include divorce, parental rights and responsibilities, protection order issues, and contempt issues.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Miller served as a Deputy District Attorney for the 4th Judicial District in El Paso County, Colorado and the 21st Judicial District in Mesa County, Colorado. As a Deputy District Attorney in Mesa County, Mr. Miller received significant jury trial and motions practice experience. After a year of practice in Mesa County, Mr. Miller decided to transfer back home to the El Paso County office. Within four months of employment, he was placed in a supervisory role over all prosecutors handling misdemeanor crimes for the 4th Judicial District. In that role, he drafted county court plea guidelines, trained new attorneys, and helped guide new approaches to Domestic Violence prosecution. He also handled cases involving sensitive victim issues such as child abuse, sex offenses, and careless driving causing death.
Mr. Miller is a graduate of McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. While in law school, Mr. Miller appeared on the Dean’s Honors List and clerked for several California-based general practitioners. In so doing he gained valuable experience in a wide range of legal writing and analysis. In his final year of law school Mr. Miller was appointed as an administrative hearing officer. In that role, Mr. Miller wrote over 300 administrative decisions for the municipalities of Sacramento and Elk Grove, and the University of California, Davis Medical Center. During his undergraduate studies in Virginia, Mr. Miller played NCAA soccer for Lynchburg College and received academic scholarships every year of enrollment.
Mr. Miller was raised in Colorado Springs and was a member of the first graduating class of Pine Creek High School. Mr. Miller is a zealous advocate and he considers it an honor to serve the community that served him so well.
